IGP Méditéranée
About the Area
The IGP Méditéranée region, stretching along the sun-drenched southern coast of France, is celebrated for its vibrant, approachable wines that reflect the warmth and diversity of the Mediterranean climate. Unlike more tightly regulated AOC regions, IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) Méditéranée offers winemakers greater flexibility in grape varieties and techniques, encouraging creativity and innovation while still highlighting regional character. The area benefits from long hours of sunshine, cooling sea breezes, and varied soils—from limestone to clay—which together create ideal conditions for cultivating both native and international grape varieties. This balance of tradition and experimentation results in expressive, fruit-forward wines—particularly rosés and aromatic whites—that are as lively and inviting as the landscape they come from.
